Flag Fork Kentucky Burgoo Hearty Stew Mix (6 oz.)

Since frontier days, "Burgoo" has been cooked in large black kettles over an open fire, utilizing whatever vegetables, meat, & game were available. Traditionally served at horse races, political rallies, and other social functions with cornbread, iced tea, and a slice of pie for desert, it makes a hearty meal for any occasion!

Ingredients: Dried lima beans, potatoes, green beans, peas, corn, carrots, cabbage, onion, bell peppers, celery, spices, garlic.

Kentucky Burgoo Stew:

Place contents in a large pot with lid, adding 1 qt. water and soaking overinght.Add 3 cups crushed tomatoes, 1/2 cup tomato puree, 1 tsp. lemon juice, 2 Tbsp. sugar, 2 Tbsp. butter, and 3 cups cooked and shredded meats of your choice( As varried as possible). Cook until tender, adding water if needed. Add salt and pepper to taste, and a shot of tobasco sauce if desired. Enjoy!
